The Special Plates
Some things are too precious to be used. Or so we think.
Dear Loved One,
Growing up, there was always a set of special plates in the house. They stayed inside the cabinet, reserved for important visitors or when the occasion felt special enough. The rest of us knew better than to touch them.
Those plates remained spotless and perfectly preserved, but every day they stayed hidden was another day they weren’t doing what they had been made to do. A plate fulfils its purpose on the table, not in the cabinet.
I wonder how many of us have quietly done the same with our lives. Waiting until we feel ready. Until we have more confidence, more experience, or more certainty. So we keep our gifts and ideas where they feel safe, untouched and protected.
But hidden was never the plan.
In Matthew 5:16, Jesus said, “Let your light shine before others…” Light fulfils its purpose by shining. It was never meant to be hidden.
Those plates were never waiting for the right guest. They were simply waiting to be used.
Perhaps some of your gifts and ideas are waiting too.
Have a great week!
Shalom,
Ayo Daniels
