What is Your Suya?
The most underrated thing you can do this June.
Dear Loved One,
There is a suya seller somewhere near where you grew up or near where you work now who has been in the same spot for over twenty years.
No rebrand. No social media strategy. No pivot. No “premium tier.”
Same charcoal. Same skewers. Same sauce. The same orange glow at 7pm that you can smell before you turn the corner.
And people drive across the city to find him.
Not because he is the cheapest. Not because he went viral. But because he made a quiet decision at some point that this one thing, done excellently, done faithfully, in the same place, was enough to build a life on.
We live in a world that celebrates the pivot. The rebrand. The expansion. The new offering. Every few months, a new strategy, a new niche, a new version. We have been taught that staying in one place is falling behind.
But there is a kind of equity that only builds in one place.
Trust. Reputation. Depth. These are not built by moving fast. They are built by staying long.
Jesus said it plainly in Luke 16:10: “Whoever is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much.”
As June begins, before you write everything you want to accomplish this month, sit with one question:
What is my suya?
The one thing that, if you showed up to it faithfully every single day this month, would begin to compound into something no shortcut can build.
Find that. Stay there.
Happy new month!
Shalom,
Ayo Daniels
